Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Agent Runtime Platform. You will lead teams delivering secure, scalable environments where agents perform complex tasks at scale.

You’ll own strategy, drive execution, and keep hands-on involvement in building runtime platforms and tooling. The role emphasizes blocking-friction removal, cross-team collaboration, and maintaining high security standards while growing platform capabilities to support agents across deployments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of management experience in a technical environment.
• 10+ years building and operating large-scale platforms or distributed systems.
• Experience with container or VM orchestration at scale.
• Experience building security-sensitive infrastructure: sandboxing, workload isolation, credential management, or access control.
• Experience with capacity planning and utilization across multiple cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for agent runtime platforms.
• Manage day-to-day execution of the team’s work in a fast-paced environment.
• Prioritize the team’s work and manage projects with focus on productivity.
• Stay hands-on: build and ship the runtime platform and tooling.
• Define secure agent execution standards in collaboration with security teams.
• Build reusable primitives across agents.
• Own infrastructure scalability and reliability across cloud providers.
• Collaborate cross-team to support internal teams bringing up their agents.
