Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to safeguard its large-scale AI systems across multiple clouds and data centers. You will design and implement robust network security controls, build secure-by-default pipelines using infrastructure as code and GitOps, and drive threat modeling and risk assessment across teams.

Ideal candidates bring 8–15+ years in software engineering, strong Python or systems language skills, and hands-on cloud security experience.

Qualifications

• 8–15+ years of software engineering experience building critical systems at scale.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python or a systems language (Go, Rust, C/C++).
• Experience with DevOps and cloud automation using infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on security engineering in cloud or on-prem environments (VPC design, firewall policy, egress controls).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes security and networking (network policy, service identity, container hardening).
• Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment for multi-cloud systems.
• Proven track record of driving engineering excellence and mentoring teammates.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate technical concepts across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build security for large-scale AI clusters across clouds and data centers (IAM, segmentation, encryption).
• Design and implement network security controls including deny-by-default policies and cross-cloud connectivity.
• Deliver secure defaults via IaC and GitOps workflows for new clusters and data centers.
• Provide visibility into network traffic and detect boundary drift with automated remediation.
• Shape secure-by-design CI/CD practices, with Kubernetes security expertise.
• Model threats and assess risk across multi-cloud environments; collaborate during design time.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to Security team growth.
