Job summary

Portishead, Bristol-based Logistics Coordinator role at Employal is seeking a proactive professional with 2+ years in logistics or customer-facing roles. You will manage enquiries, quotations and bookings, source vehicles and coordinate consignments across the UK and Europe.

You’ll monitor movements, resolve issues and build strong relationships with customers, drivers and partners, with opportunities to develop the driver network and use AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in logistics, transport, freight forwarding or customer-facing service.
• Proactive approach and strong customer service commitment.
• Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness and profitability understanding.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and prioritization.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to learn new systems and technology, including AI capabilities.
• Experience with road freight, subcontractor networks and CRM/DS tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer enquiries and provide prompt quotations.
• Follow up on enquiries and convert quotations to bookings.
• Source vehicles and transport providers while monitoring costs and margins.
• Coordinate consignments from booking to delivery.
• Monitor live movements, resolve issues and keep customers informed.
• Build relationships with customers, drivers and partners.
• Recruit and onboard subcontractor drivers and support app usage.
• Identify suppliers for complex UK/European requirements.
• Suggest improvements to systems, processes and ways of working.
• Collaborate with colleagues to leverage technology and AI tools.
