Job summary

Employal in Portishead is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our growing operations team. You will manage enquiries, prepare quotations and coordinate consignments through to successful delivery.

You will work with customers, transport partners and internal colleagues, source vehicles, monitor live movements and help improve systems with technology and AI tools. This is a full-time, office-based role with opportunities to develop your driver network.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in logistics/transport/freight forwarding or customer-facing service role.
• Proactive approach and strong commitment to customer service.
• Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer enquiries and produce prompt, accurate and competitive quotations.
• Follow up on enquiries and turn quotations into bookings.
• Source suitable vehicles and transport providers, mindful of costs and margins.
• Coordinate consignments from booking through to delivery.
• Monitor live movements, resolve issues and keep customers informed.
• Build strong relationships with customers, drivers and transport partners.
• Help recruit and onboard subcontractor drivers, supporting registration and app usage.
• Identify specialist suppliers for complex UK/European transport requirements.
• Suggest improvements to systems, processes and ways of working.
• Work with colleagues to make effective use of technology, automation and AI tools.
