Job summary

BCL Legal represents a leading international law firm seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the Commercial Technology practice in the City of London. The role focuses on technology contracts, outsourcing and emerging technologies, with exposure to AI, cloud services and technology regulation.

You will work with senior lawyers and clients across sectors, developing advisory and business development skills, and coaching junior lawyers.

Qualifications

4–7 PQE with UK qualification in law
Experience advising on IT and technology contracts, outsourcing and technology transactions
Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
Ability to translate complex technology arrangements into clear legal advice
Interest in technology and AI is advantageous
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative and business-minded

Responsibilities

Advising on technology contracts including IT agreements and outsourcing
Drafting agreements related to AI and emerging technologies
Advising on technology-related regulatory requirements, especially in financial services
Supporting technology aspects of corporate transactions with other teams
Advising on commercial, contractual and operational considerations of complex technology projects
Developing client relationships and contributing to business development
Coaching and developing junior lawyers (Senior Associate level)
collaborating across practice areas and jurisdictions to deliver integrated services
