Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Team Manager for our Technical team at Flaxby. You will lead a team of operatives, coach performance, and drive daily KPI delivery while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will plan short- and medium-term targets, manage costs, and develop talent through coaching. You’ll ensure compliance with BRC standards and Morrisons policies, and work to continually improve production and customer service.

Qualifications

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production/quality assurance operation.
• Proven ability to coach and develop people and deliver strong results.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Cost models and budgetary control awareness, with pest control understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of operatives and develop high performance through coaching.
• Set short- and medium-term plans and KPI targets.
• Implement and ensure compliance with Technical policies and food safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
• Oversee daily shift briefs and weekly labour planning.
• Support site accreditations and maintain product quality standards.

More About The Role

Our Team Managers have the operation nailed. They're responsible for driving results through their teams. It's up to them to ensure their people are engaged, well managed and productive. It's fast and ever-changing - are you up for the challenge? In this role you will manage a team of colleagues within the Technical team, working to deliver a high quality product to our customers.

Reporting into the Technical Manager, other responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of Operatives, as a strong people developer and performance manager through a coaching leadership style
• Overseeing the establishment of short and medium term plans and KPI targets
• Implementation of and compliance to Technical policies
• Playing an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable
• Ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards comply with BRC and Morrisons food safety standards
• Monitoring and driving KPIs and taking action to ensure they are all met on a daily and weekly basis
• Setting performance targets and reviewing progress and creating action plans to improve performance (including reducing of costs and the improvement of standards across all areas)
• Looking for solutions to problems and driving continuous improvement strategies
• Spotting and developing talent in your team through coaching and guidance
• Looking after colleague welfare and improving attendance standards
• Allocating tasks and holding daily shift briefs, and being accountable for the weekly technical labour plan
• Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications

More about you

As well as having a strong work ethic. You will also have:

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production / quality assurance operation
• The ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistency in service to our customers, and will demonstrate your ability to problem solve
• A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo
• Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot
• An understanding of cost models and experience of budgetary control and understanding pest control management.
