Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead a dedicated service for sensory-impaired and Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing users. This maternity cover role is based in Morpeth with hybrid working and carries a fixed-term contract up to 12 months.

You will ensure contractual obligations are met, develop the service, manage daily staff duties and maintain high safety and quality standards.

£32,488 per annum

Full-time, 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Team Manager to manage our well-established team that provides a high-quality service, on behalf of Northumberland County Council, to those with a visual impairment and/or who are Deaf, Hearing Impaired, Deafblind or have acquired Dual Sensory loss. This is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months for Maternity Cover.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• Ensure all contractual obligations are fully met


• To develop and lead the service, add value and genuinely engage with service users


• Manage staff in respect of their day-to-day duties and their personal develop development


• To ensure the service is safe and remains of a high standard

To be successful for the role you will have:

• Experience in working with people with a sensory disability


• Experience in managing staff and a real desire to build upon the success of the team


• Experience in develop services


• A management qualification
