Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Team Manager in the Building Futures (Neglect) Team. You will lead a countywide, multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-informed interventions for children affected by neglect.

The role requires driving travel between Lowestoft, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, excellent leadership and partnership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in Children's Services.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and current SW England registration required.
• Experience leading and developing practitioners in Children’s Services.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, assessment and child protection.
• Ability to lead across agencies and foster multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Commitment to strengths-based practice and best outcomes for children.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team of Social Workers and practitioners.
• Drive a strengths-based, child-centred approach to improve outcomes.
• Provide reflective supervision, guidance and professional challenge.
• Ensure effective assessment, planning, progression and risk management.
• Build partnerships with Family Help, Social Care, Education, Health and Police.
• Lead on performance, quality assurance and service improvement.
• Support evidence-informed approaches and service development.
• Manage resources, staffing, recruitment and workforce development.
• Promote learning, innovation and high professional standards.
