Job summary

Turning Point invites applications for a Team Manager in Salisbury to lead our Refocus - Day Opportunities service. You will oversee staff, drive a high standard of person-centred care, and collaborate with other managers to shape future expansion. A strong leader with experience in learning disabilities is essential.

You will manage team performance, participate in out-of-hours on-call duties, and contribute to service development. NVQ 4/5 are encouraged and driving licence is preferred.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our management team at our Refocus - Day Opportunities service in Salisbury, a vibrant service supporting adults with Learning Disabilities. As the Team Manager you will have management responsibility for the team within this day service for adults with complex needs and supporting with future plans for expansion. As one of our management team, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you benefit from an exceptional level of internal and external training as well as a highly supportive management team.

Please note you must have experience in leading a team to be considered for this role.

Role Responsibility

As Team Manager you will have the responsibility to manage the support staff You will be a visible leader within your team, providing practical and visible leadership throughout the day. You will work collaboratively with other Team Managers and your Locality Manager to ensure high quality treatment is delivered in a person centred and engaging way.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To inspire and drive excellent support within a team.
  • To meet financial and business targets.
  • To support individuals with various needs including autism learning disabilities, complex physical or health needs.
  • To communicate effectively to a range of audiences.
  • To operate flexibly as this role will involve out of hours checks supporting/coaching staff and the possible need to backfill when short of staff.
  • To take part in the Wiltshire out of hours on-call rota
The Ideal Candidate

Building on your experience of working with people with learning disabilities, you'll set, maintain, and develop standards as part of our service. As a manager, your focus will always be on ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality services - all within a challenging, but very rewarding environment. In this varied Team Manager role, you'll also carry out risk assessments, implement Support Plans and provide operational management.

  • Demonstrable leadership skills and flexible and adaptable leadership style;
  • In depth understanding and ability to operationally and performance manage the functions of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written). Ability to adapt to respond to staff, commissioners/partners and people we support;
  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills;
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments;
  • Willing to work towards NVQ level 4/5 qualification
  • Hold a manual driving licence
