Job summary

Henderson Group in Templepatrick is seeking a Team Leader to help guide the store team and deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will report to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager and lead by example, ensuring policies and standards are followed both on and off the shop floor.

The role involves working 42.5 hours per week across 5/7 days (6am–12 Midnight), with potential Post Office duties and a focus on community initiatives. Competitive hourly pay and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 18 years or over with prior store retail experience.
• At least 6 months in a supervisory role leading a team in a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team alongside Assistant/Store Manager to follow policies and practices.
• Take responsibility for store operations in the absence of other leaders (keyholder).

• Cover the Post Office role when required.

Note Opening, Closing and Weekened shifts will be expected. This role will involve working 5/7 days of the week.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers’ expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

As Team Leader you will:

Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.

Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).

Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.

Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.

Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.

Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.

You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you'll need is:

You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.

A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members

Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.

Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
