Job summary

Leicestershire Police is seeking a Team Leader for the Serious Investigation Safeguarding Hub in Wigston. You will lead multi-disciplinary strategy discussions, protect children, and manage safeguarding referrals and investigations with professionalism and compassion.

You will assess referrals from children’s services, health services, schools, and police incidents, driving evidence-informed practice and cross-agency collaboration under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Must use sound judgement to make confident decisions in high pressure safeguarding situations.
• Working knowledge of criminal law.
• Able to work collaboratively within a team, communicating effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary strategy discussions to protect children and ensure safeguarding referrals and investigations are professional and compassionate.
• Assess referrals and make investigative decisions, aligning with multi-agency partners and National Decision Model.
• Represent the police at meetings, gathering information to inform safeguarding responses and investigative direction.
