Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Children's Team Manager for the Hinckley locality to oversee a cross-section of duties including Duty and Assessment, CIN and CP teams. The role requires safeguarding experience and the ability to make quick decisions, with a one-week-per-month duty management expectation.

You will manage approximately six social workers and support staff, with a minimum of three days in the office and in-office coverage during the duty week.

Qualifications

• Experience in duty management and safeguarding.
• Ability to manage a social work team and workload.
• Strong data and compliance oversight.
• Experience with PLO/Court processes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage approx. 6 Social Workers and additional support staff.
• Cover duty and assessment functions for one week each month.
• Oversee safeguarding cases and ensure timely decisions.
• Ensure high support and high challenge to staff and data quality.
