Job summary

Health Recruit Network is supporting a well-established Children’s Home in the Shrewsbury area to recruit a Team Leader for residential care. You will lead shifts, supervise staff, contribute to care plans, and ensure safeguarding and trauma-informed practices are followed.

The role requires at least 1 year of experience in residential childcare, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards), and the ability to manage budgets and records. A UK driving licence is also required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in residential childcare is required.
• Understanding of child development and trauma-informed practice is essential.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards) is required.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills are expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication and safeguarding knowledge are required.
• Ability to lead by example and maintain professional boundaries is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is desirable.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins; driving licence preferred.

This Children’s Home have been established since 2006 and are recognised for the exceptional care they provide to children and young people across their residential and supported living services. Their commitment to quality is reflected in the fact that 50% of their Residential Homes are rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

Your Role

• Lead shifts and support the team to deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans
• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to residential care staff

• Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with daily operations and home standards

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management roleKnowledge of residential childcare regulations and quality standards
