Job summary

Brainkind in Cramlington, near Newcastle, is seeking a Team Leader to manage a team of support workers. The role involves delivering high-quality social and vocational support for service users, following individual plans and ensuring regulatory standards are met.

The post requires an NVQ/QCF level 3 in HSC (or willingness to work towards within 12 months), experience in care, and strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a care setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good time keeping, time management, attendance skills.
• Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adaptable in approach, prioritise, plan and organise the workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide line management to a designated team of staff at a location within the division.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders to enhance Brainkind's reputation.
• Undertake travel to support other locations as required.
• Set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team.
• Lead and support compliance with Brainkind quality audits and health and safety duties.
• Contribute information for incident, safeguarding notifications as appropriate.
• Represent Brainkind at meetings and external events.
• Liaise with authorities, families, GPs and safeguarding teams as needed.
• Monitor day-to-day spending at the location including service user monies.
• Empower staff and service users to maintain a homely environment.
