Job summary

Henderson Group, operating EUROSPAR Ballyhackamore at 276 Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, BT4 3EU, is hiring a Team Leader. The role is full-time (34 hours/week) with morning, evening and weekend shifts across 6:00am–midnight, Monday to Sunday, and flexibility to cover.

You will help lead the store team to deliver outstanding customer service. Reporting to the Assistant/Store Manager, you’ll model our values and drive store performance while supporting local community initiatives.

Qualifications

• You must be aged 18 years or over and have prior store retail experience with at least 6 months in a supervisory role leading a team.
• Natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members.
• Focused on achieving business plans/priorities and continuous improvement.
• Ability to inspire colleagues to deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to follow policies, standards and practices.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (keyholder).
• Be a positive role model and uphold our values: Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork, Integrity.
• Train, manage workload and be hands-on to ensure resources meet demand for best customer experience.
• Support Store Manager to maximise store performance and implement plans.
• Promote and participate in community initiatives; may cover the Post Office as required.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

As Team Leader you will

• Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
• Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
• You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you'll need is

• You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
• A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members
• Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
• Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
