Job summary

Henderson Group, operating SPAR/FOODMARKET Greystone, seeks a Team Leader to help guide the store team and deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will report to the Assistant/Store Manager and may hold keyholder responsibilities to cover leadership in their absence.

The role requires 6 months supervisory retail experience, strong communication, and a target-driven approach to achieve business priorities, with a commitment to the local community and our values.

Qualifications

• Store retail experience with at least 6 months in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team alongside the Assistant/Store Manager to follow policies, standards and practices.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (keyholder duties).
• Be a positive role model and live our values: Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork, Integrity.
• Train and manage workload; stay hands-on to ensure resources are in the right place for best customer experience.
• Support Store Manager to maximise store performance and implement store plan and priorities.
• Promote and participate in community initiatives and cover Post Office when required.

£14.63 per hour & great benefits
Full-time position at 37.5 hours per week, working within the opening hours of the store, Monday to Sunday, 6:00am to 10:00pm, with a degree flexibility required. Please note, opening, closing and weekend shifts will be expected.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers' expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

As Team Leader you will:

• Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
• Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
• You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us as Team Leader, the minimum criteria you'll need is:

• You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
• A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members
• Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
• Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
