Job summary

Shaw healthcare (Group) Ltd seeks a Residential Team Leader for New Elmcroft, a 60-bed care home in Shoreham-by-Sea, near Brighton and Worthing. The role focuses on person-centred care and leading the care team across day or night shifts on a 4‑week rota.

You will manage medications, update care plans, and communicate with residents, families, and colleagues to maintain high standards of care. Flexible hours and weekend work are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with older people in residential care.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care (or equivalent) qualification.
• Flexible, patient, caring, organised and great with people.
• Ability to lead a team and use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, providing guidance and support on shift to promote best practice.
• Administer and record medication safely in line with Shaw policies and procedures.
• Report changes in residents needs or well‑being promptly to the Line Manager.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care plans and documentation.

Residential Team Leader at New Elmcroft

Salary: £15.36 - £16.00 per hour

Hours: 24 hours per week - either days or nights available

Shift Times: Flexible on 4 week Rota working 12hr shifts (either days 07:45-20:15 or nights 20:00-08:00) - includes alternative weekends

The facility specialises in nursing, dementia, residential, and respite care, providing a safe and supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities

As a Residential Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of person-centred care and supporting your team to uphold those standards in everything they do. This will include, but not limited to:

Qualifications And Experience

• Experience working with older people in residential care
• You will have completed your NVQ/QCF Level 3 Health and Social care (or equivalent)
• You will need to be flexible, patient, caring, organised and great with people
• Ability to lead a team and use own initiative
