Job summary

Magnet is seeking a Team Leader in Darlington to manage a production team, ensuring output targets and quality standards are met while delivering excellent customer service. The role reports to the Production Lead and involves implementing Lean practices, staff coaching, and safety compliance.

You will lead weekly briefings, manage attendance, and support HR processes, fostering a positive, no-blame culture. A strong background in medium to large batch manufacturing and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a Team Leader or similar supervisory role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and leadership abilities.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and behavioural safety practices.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and woodworking machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver production in line with plans issued by the Planning team.
  • Manage colleague attendance and ensure absence records are completed accurately.
  • Support colleague performance through regular appraisals and development plans; ensure training to achieve targets.
  • Lead weekly team briefings and communicate key updates.
  • Promote Health & Safety by following legislation, audits, and investigations.
  • Support HR processes, mentor team members, and foster a positive culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing Lean practices and contributing to site objectives.

Role: Team Leader

Reports to: Production Lead

Location: Darlington

Hours: 37.5 / 39 hours

Salary: £33,002.12 + shift allowance
