Job summary

Magnet is hiring a Trainee Machinist in Darlington on a permanent contract. The role offers hands-on training, supportive environment, and long-term career growth within a well-equipped manufacturing setting.

The starting salary is £25,875.02 with shift allowance, rising after a 6‑month training period and potential progression through higher levels. There will be an on-site assessment day on 24th August in Darlington to learn about the business, meet the team, and complete interviews.

Role: Trainee Machinist

Reports to: Production Lead

Location: Darlington

Contract: Permanent

We're excited to be recruiting for Trainee Machinists to join our growing team at Magnet. Trainee Machinist salary starts at £25,875.02 (plus shift allowance), increasing to £27,442.58 (plus shift allowance) after successful completion of a 6 month training programme. Following this there is further potential as you work your way up the levels, so if you are ambitious this is the role for you.

For this role we will be holding an assessment day on-site in Darlington on the 24th August. This will give you the chance to learn about our business, see the working environment and have an in-person interview.
