Job summary

Change Grow Live in Manchester is seeking a confident Team Leader to provide operational line management and strong service delivery. You will lead on safeguarding, governance and staff development, guiding a team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care for adults affected by substance misuse.

Qualifications

  • Experience of leading teams in a health/social care setting.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and policy experience.
  • Ability to motivate and empower staff and service users.
  • Proven ability to manage performance, governance and data.
  • Experience building partnerships with external agencies.
  • Evidence of robust record-keeping and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational line management to staff, including supervision and performance management.
  • Promote hope, empowerment and person-centred approaches for service users.
  • Ensure values-based leadership across the team.
  • Monitor service quality using data and continuous improvement plans.
  • Oversee safeguarding and risk management with the safeguarding lead.
  • Lead team meetings and foster a learning culture with feedback.
  • Identify training needs and support staff development.
  • Maintain governance and professional standards in service delivery.

Hours:Full time, 37.5 per week

Contract Type:Permanent

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hour.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

  • Team Leadership & Supervision -Provide operational line management to staff, including supervision with reflective practice, conduct appraisals and manage performance and sickness absence and ensure staff comply with organisational (CGL) and external policies relevant to their roles.
  • Empowering Staff & Service UsersSupport staff to actively promote hope, empowerment, choice, and independence for primarily opiate and non-dependent service users. Encourage person-centred practices that enable individuals to develop their strengths, achieve their full potential, and engage meaningfully within their communities.
  • Values-Based Leadership -Ensure organisational values underpin all decision-making and service delivery and foster a culture that reflects and promotes these values across the team.
  • Service Quality & Performance Management -Monitor service quality using data analysis, engage staff in continuous improvement planning and develop team and individual performance plans where necessary.
  • Safeguarding & Risk Management -Work with the team and the Designated Safeguarding Lead to identify risks to service users, children, and families, ensure staff are competent in delivering interventions that reduce risk.
  • Team Communication & Learning Culture - contribute to team meetings, promote a learning culture and ensure effective information sharing and provide staff with feedback on service developments and delivery.
  • Staff Development & Training -Use the 'connect skills' learning platform to identify training needs and encourage participation in both face-to-face and e-learning development opportunities.
  • Practice Observation & Feedback -Observe staff practice to support improvements in service user outcomes. Provide timely, constructive feedback aligned with organisational values.
  • Governance & Professional Standards -Maintain robust governance and monitoring systems with the management team and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery and adherence to professional standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement -Attend internal and external meetings with stakeholders.

About you:

  • Experience of working with Adults experiencing difficulties around Substance misuse.
  • Excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their effects.
  • Line management experience
  • The ability to lead, empower and motivate a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices and experience of embedding these operationally.
  • The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
  • Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and evidence-based interventions around substance misuse.
  • Knowledge and experience of community-based support/outreach practices.
  • Ability to ensure all record keeping, outcome monitoring and data collection is maintained effectively.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Respond flexibly to the demands of the post.
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for Adults.
