Job description

What will I be doing?

You will be:

• Leading a team of 4 site operatives plus yourself in the day-to-day operations on a waste transfer site;
• Operating mobile plant including loading shovels, forklifts, 360 diggers, and Shunting RoRo;
• Operating a weighbridge, maintaining production boards, stock levels, and records;
• Completing your own training in IOSH, permit to work, Safety in Mind, and being prepared to complete a Certificate in Waste Management within the first full year (after probation);
• Managing the site in the absence of the Site Supervisor.

What are the requirements?

• A broad knowledge of mobile plant and other applicable equipment used within Waste Management and Recycling;
• Certification of mobile plant used on site is desirable, although training may be provided;
• You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal);
• An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable;
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous;
• A willingness to work overtime and flexibility, as operations run over a 7-day week, including all English Bank Holidays.
