Job summary

CareTech UK Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for a permanent, full-time position in Hanley Stoke-on-Trent. The role offers 36 hours per week across days and night shifts, with a fixed hourly rate of £12.79.

You will deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills and personal care, and promote independence and wellbeing while working as part of a supportive team. Training is provided and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level3 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Support Worker

Location: Hanley Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Rate: £12.79 per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 36 hours per week days and night shifts

About the Service – Smithfields

Smithfields is a supported living service which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music.

There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
