Ready to take the next step into leadership?

We are recruiting experienced Team Leaders / Deputy Managers in Dudley who are confident leading teams within complex, high-acuity care environments.

This is a permanent opportunity for someone who wants responsibility, stability and a genuine pathway towards Service Manager and Registered Manager level.

This is not agency work and this is not temporary work.

You will be joining a permanent care team where your leadership, judgement and experience will directly influence the quality and safety of the service.

Choose from:

36 hours per week approximately £29,952 per year

48 hours per week approximately £39,936 per year

Pay is £16.00 per hour and you will be employed on a permanent contract, providing greater stability and consistency than temporary or agency work.

A Genuine Leadership Role

This position combines direct care with shift leadership, staff supervision, quality assurance and incident management.

You will help lead staff teams supporting individuals with complex behavioural needs, including services operating at 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 staffing levels.

You will help ensure that care plans, Positive Behaviour Support plans, risk assessments, DoLS requirements and behavioural management strategies are followed consistently across the team.

Your responsibilities will include leading staff during shifts, coordinating staff deployment, maintaining oversight of changing risks, leading responses during significant behavioural incidents and ensuring de‑escalation remains the primary response.

You will also support responses to aggression, violence, absconding and self‑injury, conduct shift briefings and handovers, review care records and incident reports, support post‑incident reviews and monitor staff practice.

The role will also involve supporting staff supervision and competency assessments, identifying training needs, contributing to PBS strategies and behavioural risk assessments, liaising with managers and external professionals and promoting safeguarding, dignity, independence and least restrictive practice.

You must be able to make safe decisions under pressure, provide clear direction and maintain oversight of both individual needs and staff safety.

Who We’re Looking For

This is a leadership position, so strong previous experience is essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of complex care, learning disabilities, autism, Acquired Brain Injury, mental health, high‑risk behavioural services and enhanced staffing packages.

Experience of behaviours that challenge, physical aggression, crisis prevention, de‑escalation, physical intervention or restraint and leading teams during challenging incidents is particularly important.

Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, complex risk assessments, safeguarding, DoLS, least restrictive practice, incident reporting and escalation is also highly desirable.

Previous experience leading, supervising or managing staff during significant behavioural incidents is essential.

Training & Qualifications

DMI / Dynamis trained candidates are strongly preferred.

Candidates with current PMVA or equivalent recognised physical intervention training may also be considered, subject to competency review and completion of any required organisation‑specific training.

You must be confident recognising inappropriate physical intervention and capable of challenging or stopping unsafe practice where required.

A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent would be desirable.

A full UK driving licence is also preferred.

We want this to be more than your next job. We want it to be the next stage in your leadership career.

You will have access to structured development and funded qualifications, including progression towards Level 5 Leadership & Management.

Your potential career pathway could be:
