Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the United Kingdom is seeking a Team Leader to design, manage and optimise contract logistics solutions at the Telford site. You will lead a team, coordinate warehouse processes and drive improvements to meet targets.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and hands-on work within 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday across multiple buildings at the Telford site.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or team leadership is beneficial.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with WMS/Dispatcher systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse administration activities to ensure systems and processes are completed accurately.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to coordinate bookings and queries.
• Plan daily workloads to achieve targets and manage time and attendance.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous performance improvements.
• Build relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders for cross-functional collaboration.
• Foster a positive team environment and provide regular feedback and communication.
• Ensure compliance with JSP requirements and stock controls for returns and damaged items.
• Coordinate stock deployment across sites as required.
• Produce weekly reports by analysing WMS data to support decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and service.
• Operate per training materials and SOPs, including WI and ABC Modules.
• Comply with health and safety practices and report incidents promptly.

• Manage warehouse administration activities to ensure all operational systems, processes, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise closely with customers and suppliers to coordinate booking-in procedures, resolve queries, and maintain effective working relationships.
• Plan and prioritise daily workloads to ensure operational targets are achieved, while effectively managing time and attendance matters across the team.
• Monitor, review, and report on internal and external KPIs, driving continuous performance improvements and ensuring service level expectations are consistently met.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders, responding professionally to requests and promoting effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Foster a positive team environment by encouraging employee engagement, participation, and teamwork, while providing regular feedback and clear communication to support individual and operational success.
• Ensure full compliance with all JSP requirements, maintaining accurate controls and processes for returned, damaged, and non-conforming stock.
• Coordinate stock deployment across multiple sites as required to support operational and customer requirements.
• Produce weekly operational reports by analysing Warehouse Management System (WMS) data, providing insights to support informed decision-making and performance management.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, productivity, and service delivery.
• Operate in accordance with trained work instructions, standard operating procedures, and associated documentation, including ABC Modules and Work Instructions (WI).
• Comply with all health, safety, and safe working practices, ensuring accidents, hazards, near-misses, and incidents are reported promptly and in line with company procedures.
  Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is beneficial.
• Experience working towards performance targets and service objectives.
• Familiarity with JDA/Dispatcher systems is advantageous but not essential.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Demonstrates sound problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Reliable and dependable, with the ability to support and positively influence team performance.
