Job summary

Greene King’s Governor's House in Cheadle Hulme is hiring a Team Leader on a part-time or full-time basis. You will lead by example, manage shifts and ensure high standards of service in a busy pub with dining, a large garden and 10 hotel rooms.

Opening shifts start at 06:45 and finish near 01:00 at weekends. You must be available to work over the Christmas period and have at least a year's experience in a similar role, preferably with table service experience; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• At least a year of experience in a similar role leading a team and managing shifts.
• Experience with table service is preferred; hotel side experience is not necessary as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead on shift, ensure the team are deployed effectively and service runs smoothly.
• Oversee on shift, ensure safety, legality and compliance at all times.
• Open and close the business and assist with guest queries for hotel bookings.

Job description

We are looking for a new Team Leader to join our team here at the Governor's House, on either a part-time or full-time basis. We are a busy pub, with up to six screens for sport, 75-cover dining area, 200-cover garden, and 10 hotel rooms. Permanent,£13p/h plus tips, and you must be available to work over the Christmas period.

You must have at least a year's experience in a similar role - leading team, and managing shifts, preferably with prior experience working in a table service environment. Experience with the hotel side of the operation is not necessary, as training will be provided.

You’ll lead by example, making sure the team have everything they need so the shift runs like clockwork! You’ll make sure the team maintain high standards and that our customers are kept happy.

Opening shifts start from 06.45am, whilst closes finish up to 1am at weekends - an ability to get to and from the pub, where public transport is limited, at these times is essential.

This is an excellent progression opportunity for somebody wanting to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.

Qualifications

As a Team Leader at the Governor's House, you will…

• Be either in charge of shifts, or supporting the duty manager at busier times, to ensure the team are all correctly deployed and service runs smoothly and to a high standard;
• Oversee on shift, and assist at other times, with ensuring the business is safe, legal, and compliant at all times;
• Be responsible, at times, for opening and closing the business and checking in hotel guests and dealing with their queries.
