Job summary

LDA Care Ltd in Cumbria seeks an Area Peripatetic Team Leader to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs across Carlisle to Egremont.

The role combines hands-on care with supervising a care team, rota management, and training. You will cover across Cumbria, including shifts 12 hours, and you must have a full UK driving licence to travel between services.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs.
  • Experience as a Team Leader in a supported living setting or residential home.
  • Ability to lead by example, manage rotas and supervise staff.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Cumbria.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on care and supervising the care team, including rota management.
  • Provide relief cover across Cumbria (Carlisle to Egremont).
  • Cover annual leave and sickness, coordinating different care packages.
  • Lead, train and support staff; update risk assessments.
  • Complete timesheets and liaise with Service Manager and Payroll.

Pay: £15.50 Standard Rate
Hours: 48, 36 & 24 hours per week (12hour shifts)

We are currently recruiting an Area Peripatetic Team Leader to work as part of team supporting individuals with varying needs with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health needs in the CUMBRIAarea. The role will also be providing relief cover across Cumbria from Carlisle to Egremont.

The Role

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Area Peripatetic Team Leader to work within our service with individuals who have varying needs with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support who need24-hour support throughout their day to day.

Role Description - Duties
  • Hands-on care, supporting the client with their daily routines, encouraging independence in all areas this will be achieved via the management of the rota.
  • Provides relief cover across Cumbria- from Carlisle to Egremont.
  • Covers annual leave and staff sickness, supporting different care packages where needed.
  • Working every other weekend.
  • Supervise the care team, manage rotas and co-ordinate training based on learning needs
  • Responsible for leading, supervising, supporting, and training staff
  • Ensure outcomes of appointments are shared with the team and implemented in daily care routines
  • Write and update Risk Assessments in collaboration with Service Manager.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are in place for all equipment used by Care Team in collaboration with Service manager.
  • Complete/collate timesheets and communicate with Service Manager and Payroll team.
  • Organise equipment reviews and book maintenance and servicing for all devises, this would include reconciling the client’s finances (money tin) and weekly fire checks as per Policy.
  • Additional/optional responsibilities (depending on the client and family requirements):
  • Communicating with therapists, specialists, and consultants and co-ordinating and attending appointments, effectively documenting all communication and appointment outcomes
  • Medication stock checks and prescription requests
  • Medical supplies: stock checks and ordering
  • Experience and Skills Required
  • Hands-on experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and or ADHD and Mental Health.
  • Experience as a Support Worker / Team Leader in a Supported Living Setting or Residential Home
  • Working in a family/private home
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Strong administrative and organisation skills
  • Computer literate and accurate record keeping
  • Understanding and experience of PBS Practice
  • Prior experience working with individuals with epilepsy or medical training in seizure management.

Schedule:
  • 12 hour shifts – 08:00 to 20:00 / 20:00 to 08:00
  • Monday to Friday

Licence/Certification:
  • Autism (Preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence required, as the role involves travelling between services.
