Job summary

Portman Recruitment is recruiting for a Team Leader in our client’s Children’s Homes. The role offers a salary between £43,180 and £50,444, with up to three sleep-ins per month. You will lead the staff team and support young people to achieve positive daily experiences and lasting memories.

You’ll deputise for senior managers when needed, build trusting relationships, and contribute to high-standard care for SEMH needs in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • You’ll support and guide the staff team to ensure the home runs smoothly and high standards are met.
  • You’ll deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required.
  • You’ll build strong, trusting relationships with young people and create positive experiences.

Team Leader – Children's Homes

£43,180 - £50,444 assuming good attendance and up to 3 sleep‑ins per month.

You’ll play a key role in supporting young people day to day, ensuring the home runs smoothly while helping to create positive experiences and lasting memories. As a Team Leader, you’ll also support and guide the staff team, ensuring the home continues to operate to the highest standards. You’ll be prepared to deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required.

We’re looking for someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with young people. Compassionate, emotionally resilient and supportive, you’ll also have the leadership skills to motivate and inspire your colleagues.
