Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust in Portsmouth is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist Team Lead to oversee the clinical delivery of the therapy service for children aged 0-19 within a defined locality.

You will support the Children's Therapy Manager with operational and quality management, line manage staff, support recruitment and appraisals, and deputise as needed to ensure integrated care across health, education and social care partners.

Job description

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist Team Lead.

Under the leadership of a Children's Therapy Manager, the postholder will operationally manage the clinical delivery of the therapy service for a defined profession and within a defined locality. You will support the therapy manager with operational and quality management of integrated models of care within the locality, including team support, supervision and performance management, recruitment, appraisals, communications and management of quality and governance. You will deputise for the therapy manager when required.

HIOWH Integrated Children's Therapy service is for children aged 0-19 who experience challenges with physical disability, daily functional activities, eating and drinking skills and speech, language and communication needs. This is a community service that is delivered in children's homes, pre-school settings, Children's Centres, mainstream schools, special schools, and community clinics. Services are also offered virtually via telephone, videoconferencing and through internet-based resources. Physiotherapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists work together with children and their families as part of multi-agency teams with health care professionals across acute and community services as well as colleagues in education, social care, equipment providers and wider stakeholders to enable children achieve their therapy goals.
