Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to work across Primary Schools in Canterbury and the surrounding areas. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering £93 per day, ASAP start, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm.

You will support pupils 1:1, in small groups or whole classes, help develop learning, confidence and independence, and work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities. A full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potential.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS (child-only) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the Primary age range in the classroom.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who is looking for a full-time, long-term role and wants to make a positive difference to children's learning and development.

The Role

Supporting pupils across the Primary age range within the classroom.

Working on a 1:1, small-group, or whole-class basis depending on the needs of the school.

Supporting pupils with their learning, development, confidence, and independence.

Working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning activities.

Providing additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional learning needs.

Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and motivated throughout the school day.

Supporting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Supporting pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, and school activities.

Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.

Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.

Who We're Looking For

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.

A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.

Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.

Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive attitude.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.

A reliable and professional approach to work.

A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential due to the location of some schools.

Must be available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.

The right to work in the UK.

An enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.

If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.
