Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to work across Primary Schools in Canterbury and the surrounding areas. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering £93 per day, ASAP start, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm.

You will support pupils 1:1, in small groups or whole classes, help develop learning, confidence and independence, and work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities. A full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potential.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS (child-only) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the Primary age range in the classroom.
• Work 1:1, small-group, or whole-class sessions as needed.
• Support learning, development, confidence, and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Provide support to pupils with SEND and learning needs.
• Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and motivated.
• Support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Assist with classroom management and safeguarding.
• Support during lessons, breaks, lunchtimes, and activities.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and communication.
• Work with SENCOs and school staff.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding standards.
