Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Primary Schools across Ashford and surrounding areas. This is a full-time, long-term role with a daily rate of £93 and an ASAP start.

You will work 1:1, in small groups, or with whole classes, helping children with learning, confidence and social development. The ideal candidate has prior TA experience in primary settings, a genuine passion for helping children succeed, and the ability to build positive

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils across the Primary age range within the classroom.
• Working on a 1:1, small-group, or whole-class basis depending on the needs of the school.
• Supporting pupils with their learning, development, confidence, and independence.
• Working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning activities.
• Providing additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional learning needs.
• Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and motivated throughout the school day.
• Supporting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, and school activities.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.
• Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.
• Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential due to the location of some schools.
• Must be available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.
• The right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
• If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.
