Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work across Primary Schools in Thanet and the surrounding areas. This is a full-time, long-term role with Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm and a daily rate of £93.

You will support pupils across the primary age range, including those with SEND, on 1:1, small-group or whole-class tasks, and work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons. A DBS and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is required.
• Support for pupils with SEND is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the Primary age range in the classroom.
• Provide 1:1, small-group, or whole-class support as needed.
• Assist with learning, development, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging lessons.
• Support pupils with SEND and encourage focus and motivation.
• Support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Assist with classroom management and safeguarding.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaks and activities.
• Encourage confidence, communication, and social skills.
• Work with SENCOs and school staff to support learning.
• Follow school policies and maintain high safeguarding standards.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to work across Primary Schools in Thanet and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who is looking for a full-time, long-term role and wants to make a positive difference to children's learning and development.

The Role

• Supporting pupils across the Primary age range within the classroom.
• Working on a 1:1, small-group, or whole-class basis depending on the needs of the school.
• Supporting pupils with their learning, development, confidence, and independence.
• Working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning activities.
• Providing additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional learning needs.
• Helping pupils stay focused, engaged and motivated throughout the school day.
• Supporting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, and school activities.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.
• Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.
• Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential due to the location of some schools.
• Must be available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.
• The right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
• If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.
