Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support SEND schools across Birmingham. Opportunities include long-term assignments and day-to-day supply, offering flexibility to choose the type of work that suits you.

Assistants will work with pupils with SEND, providing classroom and small-group support, helping access the curriculum and promoting development in communication, behaviour and independence.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND – essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • A patient, calm and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work confidently as part of a school team
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent – highly desirable
  • Experience supporting Autism, SEMH, MLD or complex needs would be advantageous

Job description

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work across Birmingham? The Education Network Birmingham is currently recruiting a number of Teaching Assistants to support a range of excellent SEND schools across the city. We have opportunities available for both long-term assignments and day-to-day supply, giving you the flexibility to choose the type of work that suits you. Whether you're looking for consistent work in one school or prefer the variety of day-to-day supply, we'd love to hear from you.

Our partner schools support children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties, complex learning needs and physical disabilities. You could be providing classroom support, working with small groups or delivering 1-2-1 support depending on the needs of the pupils. We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are confident, reliable and passionate about working with children with SEND.

The Role

The Successful Candidate Will Have
