Ysgol Gymunedol Talybont is seeking two caring, patient Teaching Assistants Level 2 to support Foundation Learning learners. Work with the class teacher to help pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and achieve their potential in a nurturing environment.

Two fixed-term posts run until 31 August 2028; one starts 30 November 2026 and the other 4 January 2027. Welsh and English fluency is required and a DBS check is part of safeguarding.

Ysgol Gymunedol Talybont is seeking two caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants Level 2 to support learners within our Foundation Learning Class. The successful candidates will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support for individual pupils and small groups, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. There are two fixed-term positions available until 31 August 2028. One post will commence on 30 November 2026 and the other on 4 January 2027. We would like the successful candidates to start as close to these dates as possible. As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support for pupils, including those with additional educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
• Use specialist skills and experience to deliver outreach support and assist with Individual Education Plans.
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Support learning activities, monitor pupil progress, and provide feedback to teachers.
• Help create a purposeful and supportive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families, and contribute to wider school life including trips and activities.
  Be able to communicate fluently in Welsh and English.
• Has experience working with or caring for children of relevant age.
• Holds NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications/experience.
• Has good literacy and numeracy skills and is confident using ICT to support learning.
• Understands child development, learning strategies, and relevant policies.
• Is flexible, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has first aid training or is willing to undertake it.
