Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is currently seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning difficulties and behavioural needs. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, in a supportive school environment with guidance and ongoing support.

The Start Date is September 2026, offering a pathway to stable, consistent work within the same school for the full academic year and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children in a classroom setting, preferably with learning difficulties or behavioural needs.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive, collaborative approach to pupil wellbeing and learning.
  • Willingness to start September 2026 and commit to a full academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child in KS1.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities.
  • Support emotional, social and academic development.
  • Ensure safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to meet learning outcomes.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning difficulties and behavioural needs. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, within a supportive and welcoming school environment where guidance and ongoing support will be readily available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities
  • Promote the child's emotional, social, and academic development
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to support learning outcomes

  • Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or support setting (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
