Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning difficulties and behavioural needs. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, starting September 2026 in a supportive school setting with ongoing guidance and development opportunities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a positive learning environment, delivering engaging activities, and safeguarding all pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a child with learning needs or behavioural challenges is advantageous.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, patient and proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with delivery of age-appropriate activities and learning tasks.
• Support the pupil's emotional, social and academic development.
• Ensure pupil safety and safeguarding alongside the school staff.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning difficulties and behavioural needs. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, within a supportive and welcoming school environment where guidance and ongoing support will be readily available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional learning and behavioural needs
• Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities
• Promote the child's emotional, social, and academic development
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils
• Work closely with teachers and other staff members to support learning outcomes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
