Job summary

The Friary School (part of Primitas Learning Partnership) is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with learning needs under the guidance of the Class Teacher and SENCo. The role is term-time, permanent, with 38 weeks plus 5 inset days, and will involve working up to 32.5 hours per week.

This position starts in November 2026 and requires eligibility to work in the UK, with proof of qualifications and references. The school prides itself on high expectations and supportive SEND provision.

Qualifications

• Experience providing classroom support for pupils, including those with barriers to learning.
• Ability to support learning and behaviour under guidance of teaching and SENCo.

Salary:Grade 5 SCP 7-9,FTE £27,274- £28,153,Actual Pro Rata Salary £ 20,699.23- £21,366.33

Hours of work:To be worked 08:10am – 15:10pm Monday to Friday, Term Time.

Numbers of hours is subject to discussions at interview but will be no more than 32.5 hours per week

We areseekingto appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of the Class Teacher and SENCo, to provide support in the care of pupil(s) and their needs who requireparticular helpto overcome barriers to learning,help promote positive behaviour and pupil progress.A strong teamplayer, they will contribute to the school while supporting an inclusive environment where all pupils can achieve and thrive.
