Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide Speech & Language support at a multi-site primary school in BS7, Bristol, for the full academic year starting September 2026. Role is full-time, term-time only, with a pay rate of £92.63–£97.00 per day.

The successful candidate will work one-to-one and with small groups, supporting pupils with SLCN and other SEND needs, in collaboration with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals.

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)? Axcis Education is working in partnership with a multi-site primary school in BS7, Bristol, to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive school community, supporting pupils who require additional help with their speech, language and communication development. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, teachers and SEND professionals to help children build confidence, develop communication skills and access learning successfully.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Has previous experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
• Is patient, compassionate and able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively with staff and professionals
• Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each child
• Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
