Job summary

Linwood School on Woodford Campus in Christchurch is seeking Teaching Assistants to join our expanding team on a permanent basis. Positions are offered as 30 hours per week (term time + inset days) or 15 hours per week with pro‑rating of the full-time salary.

The role involves supporting children with special educational needs, including PMLD, and requires resilience and effective communication. Full training is provided, with a 6‑month probation and on-site training sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties is desirable but not essential.
• Resilience and ability to communicate effectively using a range of tools.
• Commitment to completing training and probation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and group basis within a complex SEND setting.
• Assist with personal care, eating and drinking where required.
• Administering medication as trained and following safeguarding procedures.
