Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEMH provision in South Liverpool, starting September. The role focuses on using sport, physical activity and positive relationships to support pupils with SEMH needs, alongside classroom support as a HLTA.

You will deliver PE/sports sessions, lead small-group interventions and work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies to implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a secondary SEMH or alternative provision.
• Experience delivering sports coaching, PE or physical activity programmes.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

We are seeking an experienced TA to join our specialist secondary SEMH provision in South Liverpool. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about using sport, physical activity, and positive relationships to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering PE and sports sessions that engage and motivate students with SEMH needs
• Supporting learning in the classroom as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working in a secondary SEMH or alternative provision
• Experience delivering sports coaching, PE, or physical activity programmes
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
