Teaching Assistant Role in SEMH Schools

Prospero Teaching is seeking motivated and resilient Teaching Assistants to support students in Primary & Secondary SEMH schools across DEVON AND CORNWALL.

The schools cater to students in Key Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4 with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) indicating SEMH needs.

This role is suitable for experienced staff as well as individuals with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, support work, or mentoring children and young adults. Qualifications in Psychology, Health and Social Care, or Sociology are also desirable.

Depending on performance, there may be opportunities to extend the contract or secure a permanent position.

1. Location – Various SW England
2. Position – SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

1. Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or willingness to obtain one
2. Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year

Eligibility Requirements

1. Right to Work in the UK
2. Enhanced child DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
3. Two professional child-related references covering the last 2 years
