Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil at a Christchurch school from September. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and involves close collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor learning support and promote independence.

The successful candidate will have SEN experience, a calm, patient approach, and be committed to a full-time position. An Enhanced DBS (Update Service) is preferred or willing to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
• Calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Committed to the role on a full-time basis.
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS via Update Service.

Responsibilities

One of my lovely junior schools in Christchurch is looking to welcome a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a full-time role supporting a child in Year 5, providing tailored support throughout the school day to help them access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals. The school has a warm, inclusive ethos and a supportive staff team who work together to ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

The Role
