Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for an SEN school in Harlow. The role involves 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes, assisting with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs, a calm and resilient manner, and be comfortable supporting both age groups. DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
  • Willing to support personal care where needed.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.

  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN schools in Harlow that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible. This person will work in small groups or 1:1 with children who have a range of needs.
