Job summary

Clarendon Academy is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils in its dedicated Resource Base for cognition and learning needs. The role involves assisting groups, ensuring progress, and collaborating with the SEND team to help pupils thrive in a nurturing environment.

The position is part-time (30 hours/week, 39 weeks/year) with opportunities for training and career development within the Acorn Education Trust.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting pupils with learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and able to work with small groups requiring SEND support.
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to undertake training.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning difficulties in the Resource Base and mainstream lessons as required.
• Work with small groups to progress learning and target gaps in cognition and communication.
• Collaborate with other SEND staff to plan and monitor progress.

Clarendon Academy is looking for a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated Resource Base for students with cognition and learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide support for secondary aged students who require a more specialist provision than mainstream, but who do not need a special school. The resource base has its own distinct character, where students are able to thrive in a nurturing environment yet still have the chance to experience all the facilities and opportunities as their mainstream peers. Working Hours: Part time (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year, includes Teacher Training Days). Required: ASAP. Clarendon Academy is a thriving co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be passionate about supporting pupils with learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and be able to work with small groups of students requiring SEND support. You will work with other members of staff within the Resource Base and the wider SEND team to help students progress in their learning, and will make a real difference to their school lives.,
