Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Gateshead

Contract Type: Long-term

Leader Education is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Gateshead that supports learners aged 3-11, including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Prior experience or transferable skills in SEMH are preferred.

The school promotes a safe, happy, and engaging environment where every child is valued. The team fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

The role involves working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm, on a long-term basis.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Have experience in a similar educational role
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Follow personalized curricula and care plans
• Work with pupils individually and in groups, communicating effectively
• Participate in curriculum planning and delivery
• Prepare lessons, equipment, and activities
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support pupils
