KS1 Teaching Assistant - Shildon

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in their education? A welcoming and vibrant primary school in Shildon is looking for a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team!

Location: Shildon, County Durham
Start Date: 2nd June
Hours: Full-time, term-time only

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils aged 5-7 in their learning and development. You'll work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Assisting with the delivery of the KS1 curriculum

  • Supporting children with varying needs to reach their full potential

  • Preparing resources and setting up classroom activities

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a love of learning

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and parents where appropriate

  • Experience working with children in a school or early years setting

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)

  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic nature

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A genuine interest in helping children thrive
