Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Gateshead

Contract Type: Long-term

Leader Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Gateshead.

This role involves providing specialist support for children aged 3 to 11.

Some pupils at this school have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), while many others benefit from tailored support to address their emotional and behavioural needs.

The school is dedicated to creating a safe, happy, and engaging learning environment where every child is valued for their individuality.

As part of this community, you'll be joining a deeply supportive and collaborative team, with a leadership that truly prioritises staff well-being.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of bright, young learners.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Prior exprience with SEND/SEMH
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
  • Communication skills to effectively work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in group settings
  • A holistic approach to collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams
