Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Swansea is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work across primary, secondary and specialist settings. You’ll support teachers, help pupils 1:1 and in small groups, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Ideal candidates include graduates, new entrants and experienced assistants; ALN experience is desirable. We offer flexible full-time and part-time opportunities with access to free CPD training and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualifications.
• CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications.
• Childcare, Health & Social Care qualifications.
• Psychology, Education or Childhood Studies degrees.
• Sports Coaching or Youth Work qualifications.
• Teaching Assistant qualification and safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
• Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with ALN needs.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional wellbeing.
• Help pupils achieve academic and personal goals.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional wellbeing
• Help pupils achieve both academic and personal goals

ALN Experience Highly Desirable

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• ADHD
• Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Learning Difficulties and Disabilities

• Emotional regulation difficulties

Experience may come from education, care, support work, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, healthcare, or community roles.
