Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a nurturing Teaching Assistant for a Windsor primary school. This full-time, term-time-only role supports Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping pupils access the curriculum and reach their potential.

You will work with class teachers on small group interventions, provide one-to-one support, and promote positive behaviour in a warm, inclusive environment. A DBS check is required and GCSEs in English and Maths are expected.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy; GCSE English and Maths grade C/4+ or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills and patience.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Experience supporting young learners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Key Stage 1 and 2; assist with lesson preparation and delivery of learning activities.
• Lead small group reading, phonics, or numeracy sessions and provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development in a nurturing environment.
• Collaborate with SENCO and teachers to adapt learning materials for pupils with SEN.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Classroom Support: Assist class teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and the delivery of tailored learning activities across core subjects.
• Targeted Interventions: Lead small group reading, phonics, or numeracy support sessions, as well as providing dedicated 1:1 support for children with additional needs.
• Pupil Well-being: Promote positive behaviour, support social-emotional development, and help create a safe, encouraging classroom atmosphere.
• Inclusion & Inclusion: Work collaboratively with the SENCO and class teachers to adapt learning materials for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Qualifications & Skills: Good standard of literacy and numeracy (Grade C/4+ in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent), excellent communication skills, patience, and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
