Job summary

Birdham CE Primary School in West Sussex is seeking a friendly Teaching Assistant & Midday Meals Supervisor to work across the school, supporting a class teacher in a KS1/KS2 setting. This 32-hour per week, term-time-only role is temporary for two years with the potential to become permanent.

We expect experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school, together with the ability to inspire children, stay organized, work well in a small team and support individuals with extra needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school is essential.
• Able to inspire children and maintain high learning expectations.
• Well organized and able to take the initiative.
• Keen to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Experienced in KS1 or KS2 classes.
• Proud of high expectations and supporting learners with additional needs.
• Able to support the Christian ethos of our Church of England school.

Responsibilities

• Support a class teacher in a primary class.
• Assist with midday meals and supervising students.
